Rebecca
B Chalmers BHSAI Reg
Rebecca
is qualified to instruct and she is also on the BHS Register of
Instructors. This involves having an up to date First Aid at Work
Certificate and certified attendance on a Child Protection course.
Rebecca
regularly attends training courses to keep her practices and techniques
up to date. She is also a competitor at local and national level
showing highland ponies and competing her young horses in dressage,
show jumping and cross-country competitions.
She
has worked in many fields (excuse the pun!) including dressage,
hunting, showing hacks & riding horses at county level, and
on eventing and racing yards.
She
also spent two years near Lambourn backing yearlings and preparing
them for racing. This was invaluable experience and has shaped the
way she backs and brings on young horses ever since, she has learnt
never to cut corners! She bought her first Highland pony as a two
year old 6 years ago and has been an enthusiast ever since. Most
of the working ponies here are Highlands and compete in the season.
Rebecca
likes all the horses and ponies to be well-schooled and stimulated,
and finds competition is a good basis for this work. All but one
or two of the horses and ponies are used for our rides whenever
possible!

Neil
Chalmers
Born
and brought up in Cyprus, keen competitive member of Pony Club until
he got his apprenticeship in England in 1982. Apprenticed to Tom
Ryan in Bedfordshire for 4 years then self employed Farrier to present
day, moving to Scotland in 1995.
Neil
passed his Approved Training Farrier Certificate in 2000, but as
yet not taken on an apprentice. Shoes all the horses in the business,
helps with the more difficult horses as he has a steely nerve; and
he undertakes all the maintenance and improvements about the place.

Jenny
Roy - Part-timer but invaluable. Part of the fixtures!
